2003 WJ 2.7 CRD Grand Cherokee for sale

2003 Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee Overland 2.7 CRD Automatic

This is a vehicle that came in for a service and we noticed that one of the copper sealing washers was leaking at the bottom of number 1 injector, allowing some compression to escape. When we went to remove the injector to replace it, the bolt retaining the injector sheared off, meaning the head had to come off to have the remains machined out. The customer decided that they didn’t want to spend a load of money on the car as they were getting a new one anyway, so we bought the vehicle in as a fixer upper on my mothers behalf. Whilst the engine was open, we had a good look round and the bores still have their honing marks on them and everything looked good. Whilst the head was off we had all of the injectors out , replaced 2 that were a bit worn and fitted new retaining bolts. The engine was re assembled and a couple of other jobs were done to get it back to a good standard. it has had regular maintenance by us and recently had the front brake upgrade with new discs, callipers and pads as well as a couple of steering joints. It is a nice comfortable good sized car and being the top of the range Overland model comes with all the whistles and bells, including the Quadtrac 2 system with the clever Variloc differentials. The rear windows from the front doors back are tinted, it has fake wood everywhere including the steering wheel, acres of leather, reversing sensors, CD/radio and multi changer as well as all the usual electric gadgets. It is economical to run with its frugal 2.7 Mercedes 5 cylinder diesel engine and has a reasonable turn of speed. It is full time four wheel drive, giving it good roadholding.

It has a small dent on its front left wing, a scuff below that on the bumper plastic and a scuff on left rear bumper plastic. Otherwise it is straight and tidy. It was used for the school run of around 20 miles each way twice a day, so has clocked up fairly high mileage for its age (105,000) but it still drives very nicely. It has not been used for towing up until now. We have just fitted  a new factory towbar, together with trailer electrics.

Mother has decided it is too big for her needs and is offering it up for sale with a new MOT and tax and a fresh service, so it is ready to go for the new owner. The  price is £6000.

For Sale: 1979 Jeep CJ-7 4.2 auto fitted with Wrangler tub

This is one of SOR’s toys that is surplus to requirements. It is basically a CJ-7 with a 4.2 litre 6 cylinder petrol engine, 3 speed Torqueflite gearbox and Quadtrac transfer case and PAS. It has had a chassis up rebuild and has had the original rusty tub replaced with a YJ Wrangler (galvanised)  body. The engine has had a partial rebuild which included new big ends and main bearings, timing chain and tensioner, new oil pump, head decoke and valves reground, new water pump and distributor (electronic ignition). The radiator has been replaced as has the exhaust. It is a comfortable vehicle with all the character  of the 70’s CJ-7 but the practicality of a tub that does not rust. It retains the classic CJ-7 dashboard, Column gearchange and  controls  . It seats 4 and retains the Wrangler Rollcage and seatbelts. It is excellent fun with the roof down in the sun! It will be sold with a fresh MOT and tax.
